¢º At the Invitation of'Transparency International', Mayor GOH Kun participated at the 9th International Anti-Corruption Conference from October 10 to October If, 1999, in Durban, South Afrlca to present the OPEN system as an advanced tool for detecting corruption in the adminstration. The OPEN system was successful in attracting much interest from the 1,600 participants representing 135countries and the international organizations like IMF, World Bank, OECD, Interpol, and UNDP. As a result, Seoul was privileged to become the host of the 2003 International Anti-Corruption Conference.

¢º The Seoul Metropolitan Govern-ment is currently working with the U.N on a joint project to develop a manual on the OPEN system to disseminate it to the member nations of the U.N. The two organizations will co-host a workshop on this on-line system in Seoul in August,2001

¢º OPEN received the Innovative Management Award on June 28, 2000, from the central government

¢º OPEN was introduced in the OECD homepage(http://www.OECD.org/puma) as an innovative institution which improves transparency in the process of handling civil applications.
